Ruth Ellis was born on October 9, 1926 in Rhyl, Flintshire, Wales, UK. She was an actress. She was married to George Johnston Ellis and together they had a daughter. She was executed on July 13, 1955 in Islington, London, England, UK for murder. She had an affair with David Blakely, Despite him being engaged to another woman, the affair ended when she shot and killed him on April 10, 1955. Ellis was executed for it 3 months and 3 days later. She was the last woman to be executed in the UK. Her husband George Johnston Ellis descended into alcoholism after his wife's execution and died in a hotel on Jersey on 2 August 1958.
